The People Behind SharkBite: Meet Pat Moore

Image

At RWC, the parent company of SharkBite and Cash Acme, we’re as proud of our people as we are of our products. To introduce you to folks behind the scenes who make RWC a success, we’ve decided to chat with a few of our teammates about what they do.

Get to know Pat Moore. She’s been with the company for over 20 years and works in our manufacturing facility in Cullman, Alabama, to quality check products that you know and love.

1. Tell us a little bit more about what you do.

My position is tester of the temperature & pressure relief valves and elements. I test six valves from multiple lines every hour. I also test all the elements from the wax machines and tester machines, make all the labels for the lines and check powder coating. I also check the first pieces from the other lines. We try very hard to make sure the valves and elements meet all the requirements before they go out.

2. What are some of the more challenging parts of the job?

The most challenging part is making sure the products we build not only meet our standards but also meet and exceed our customers’ standards and expectations. It can also be challenging to make sure all procedures are followed, and things are done right.

3. You’ve been with RWC for over 20 years. How have you seen plumbing manufacturing evolve over your career?

Manufacturing has gone from simple T&P valves for suppliers to use in their end product, to producing everything needed to completely plumb a house, to leak detection technology. At our company, we look for other companies whose products complement our products and then seek to merge to help each company grow their product line.

4. What does your work mean to you?

My job is important to me because my test could mean a life if a valve or element fails out in the field. I’m proud that I have the job because it pays my bills, and I’ve gotten to work with a lot of good people — all the management, quality, coworkers, friends and family. I’m proud of RWC for what it stands for and all the help I get. Thank y’all for all you do. I hope and pray when this pandemic is over, we can get back to normal. May God always bless RWC. I also pray at the end of each day I have done a good job to the best of my ability for the company and our customers.

5. What about the plumbing manufacturing industry are you most excited about in the near future?

Steady growth, more innovative products and having enough people to get the job done in a timely manner.
