Miracle Mechanical and SharkBite Provide Free Repipe for Georgia Educator
What is Miracle Mechanical?
Brent and Kathleen Ridley are the duo behind Tool Pros, a channel dedicated to trade- and tool-related demos and reviews. Brent is a licensed HVAC and plumbing contractor who also hosts a podcast that interviews pros in the field.
After the 2020 pandemic, this husband-and-wife team wanted to help people find hope, so they created Miracle Mechanical, a program that provides free HVAC and plumbing services for those in need by partnering with select sponsors. These plumbing projects are for anyone who cannot afford to call a professional but has serious plumbing issues in their home.
Brent and Kathleen hope to grow the program, and they believe that by filming it, more brands will help them in this effort. SharkBite is the proud sponsor of this summer 2024 installation in Georgia and supports Miracle Mechanical’s mission to provide plumbing services where they’re needed most.
Julianna Je’s Story
Julianna lives in Cumming, Georgia, in metro Atlanta and is a high school science teacher. She has been in her home since 2016, but starting around 2019, began experiencing frequent leaks. After an inspection, she discovered her basement had polybutylene pipes, which are pipes that are known to leak and cause water damage. Some patchwork repairs have been done to help with this issue, but to solve the larger issue, her basement needed a complete repipe.
Last April, her pipes started leaking every time the shower ran, with water even making its way into her furnace ducts. She also had to replace her leaking pressure-reducing valve, but it eventually started to leak again. These issues went on for a month before they found out about it, causing great stress and uncertainty and forcing them to turn the water off just to go out of town.
These constant leaks left her basement unusable, and as her kids grow, she needs the extra space. Julianna knew she needed a solution, so Miracle Mechanical made it their mission to get her basement back to normal.
About the Repipe
After inspecting the area, Brent and Kathleen saw that she needed all new piping, a new PRV, and a new expansion tank and SharkBite Max ball valve for her water heater. They replaced her polybutylene pipes with SharkBite PEX-a pipe for both her hot- and cold-water lines.
Miracle Mechanical used SharkBite expansion rings and fittings to make fast, easy and secure connections. Brent used SharkBite products not only for their strength and ease of use but for the 25-year warranty so Julianna can have peace of mind for years to come.
After the installation, Julianna’s basement had new pipes that were correctly installed, secured and connected. She also had better access to her new SharkBite PRV and a new ball valve on her water heater for easy shut-off. Plus, since her old Cash Acme Tank Booster thermostatic mixing valve was broken, Miracle Mechanical replaced it with a new one.
