New Faucet Installation

Whether you’re replacing an old faucet or putting one in a new sink, installing a faucet with SharkBite Push-to-Connect supply fittings is the most efficient way to get the job done.

Installing New Fixture Supply Lines

There’s no need for solder, messy epoxy or other materials. If you’re installing a faucet with entirely new fixture supply lines, all you need to do is turn off the main water supply.

Then:

Push the stop valve onto the stub-out or tee adapter.
Thread the flex hose onto the valve on the compression end and connect the other end to the faucet.

If the flex hose is the wrong length for the faucet, you can create risers using SharkBite 3/8″ OD pipe:

Push the stop valve onto the stub-out or tee adapter.
Cut the pipe to the required length.
Push the pipe into the valve to the required depth.
Push the pipe into a faucet connector and thread the connector onto the fixture.

Installing A New Faucet

As for installing the faucet itself, as long as the new faucet fits the sink, it’s as simple as following the instructions. In general, you’ll need to:

Turn off the water supply either at the sink or the main valve and then open the tap on the old faucet to relieve the water pressure.
Disconnect the supply lines and lift rod, then remove the nuts from under the faucet to remove the old faucet.
With a bucket beneath to capture water, remove the trap and then the drain flange; most new faucets come with matching flanges.
Place the new faucet into the sink and replace the drain, installing the new drain flange and connecting the new lift rod.
Connect the faucet to the supply with SharkBite faucet connectors.
Turn the water supply back on and open the tap to flush debris and check for leaks.
