How Much Pressure Can SharkBite Max Take?
Putting SharkBite Max to the Test
Using an industry-standard pressure testing chamber, our team of engineers put a SharkBite Max fitting under immense water pressure to see how it would hold up. SharkBite Max is rated to 400 psi, but to demonstrate just how strong this new generation of fittings is, we went beyond the usual water pressure. At 2094 psi, the press fitting capping off the end of the pipe burst off the pipe while SharkBite Max held strong.
Approvals and Ratings
SharkBite Max fittings are rated to 200°F and 400 psi with a 25-year warranty for PEX, copper, CPVC and PE-RT applications and a 5-year warranty with HDPE SDR-9. See below for all approvals and click here for more information and SharkBite Max resources.

SharkBite Max Applications
With a new stainless-steel retainer, SharkBite Max has double the burst pressure of and is stronger than the first-generation fittings. They are made with a high-performance DZR lead-free brass body for a durable connection.
They are compatible with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, polybutylene and HDPE SDR-9 pipe and can be installed on wet lines, making them versatile. SharkBite fittings can also be easily removed using a disconnect clip, disconnect tongs or pro disconnect tool.
