My name is Chris Buss and I'm one of the owners of Buss Mechanical.

We do commercial and residential plumbing, everything from small TI’s to major construction, hospitals, hotels, and multifamily. The project we're currently on right now is a Hilton hotel. It's located in Meridian, Idaho and we're utilizing the SharkBite EvoPEX system to quicken the pace of the job and reduce the possibility of leaks.

On this project, we’ve used HoldRite brackets that way we can stub the EvoPEX directly out. Everything else we've gone from standard 90s, couplings, reducing tees, standard tees and connection fittings to go to schedule 80 CPVC directly to the EvoPEX. This makes it a lot faster to install and you don't have to worry about a mechanical joint failing.

We've installed close to 600 fittings, if not more, and never had a single problem, not a leak or failed fitting.

For EvoPEX, you don't have a tool you have to calibrate. If you have it in there and you see the green indicator, you walk away. You're not going to have problems. Compared to a crimp, which requires two hands on the tool, EvoPEX is a one-hand system- you never have to stop.

When you use EvoPEX, there are fewer chances that it will leak, which would make the project not as profitable. We can use one to two fewer people installing EvoPEX than you would for a crimp or solder system.

The primary reason we constantly go to EvoPEX is for the labor savings. We can do a job with fewer people, faster. Right now, that's worth its weight gold.
