How To: Install SharkBite Max Supply Stops

How to Install SharkBite Max Push-to-Connect Supply Stops

SharkBite offers a full range of stop valves, including angle, straight, dual, and many more. So, ensure you have the proper stop valve for your application.

1. Shut off the water supply to the area you are working on. The safest way to do this is the main water shut-off valve for your house or building. It might be in a basement, crawl space, near a hot water heater, or even outside in a shut-off valve box. Once it's turned to the position, relieve the line pressure by opening a nearby faucet.
2. Remove any existing supply lines or old stop valves.
3. Ensure your stub-out is cut squarely and is free of debris. If using copper, deuburr the pipe using Emory Cloth and a Deburring Tool. Be sure to leave at least one inch of pipe to insert the stop valve.
4. Measure and mark the insertion depth. With the SharkBite Deburr & Gauge Tool, mark the insertion depth. You can also find the SharkBite Insertion Depth Chart here.
5. Make the connection. Push the fitting to your mark. A slight twisting motion may help with pushing the fitting onto the pipe.

Once all connections are made and supply lines are reconnected, turn on your water and check the connections.
