On Saturday, April 27, RWC employees from Atlanta, GA, Cullman, AL and LaVergne, TN, participated in the NW Atlanta Metro Habitat for Humanity Veterans Build in the Mableton neighborhood, just outside of Atlanta. This was RWC Americas’ third Habitat for Humanity project to date and a total of 27 employees volunteered.

Accompanied by construction professionals and Habitat staff, RWC volunteers built all four exterior walls from the ground up, including framing, decking and more. When complete, this home will be part of a new group of Habitat for Humanity houses in the area.

Cori Kates, Customer Service Team Lead in Atlanta, said this was her third Habitat Build with RWC. Volunteers also said they were happy to spend their Saturday supporting a good cause.

There is a sense of excitement that we all helped someone make a fresh start. It’s a great example of paying it forward in the community.

Crystal Self, RGA Coordinator at RWC’s manufacturing facility in Cullman, traveled three hours to participate, and said that she appreciated making new connections during the build. “Seeing how easily we worked together, you would never know that a lot of us were meeting for the first time,” she said. This was Crystal’s first Habitat build, and she says she plans to participate in years to come.

Marquis Stokes, RWC Quality Manager, has participated in five Habitat builds and this was his first with RWC. “What stood out to me the most was how all of our teams unified to reach a goal,” he said. “This truly shows that we have a strong foundation at RWC.”

As part of our participation in the Habitat build, RWC donated $10K in cash and materials, including: PEX, valves, couplings, elbows, tees, EvoPEX™, angle stops, insulators, residential hammer arrestors, wraps for fitting burial, and more. Check out the time lapse video below!
