Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water softener hose Just hooked up new water softener at my mother in laws home. These braided hoses with 1" nut to 3/4 push to connect worked awesome. I have used shark bite products before with the same result. Awesome products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I was hooking up a new water softener to existing cpvc lines and noticed that the old softener had the ports facing straight out while the new GE softener offered only up or down facing ports, making it harder to mount the new softener without lifting it into place. The Sharkbites solved that problem big time. They were so simple to install and I had expected leaks from the push to connect end but following instructions to make sure the end of the pipe is square and clean I was pleasantly surprised that there were no leaks! The simplicity of the hose is amazing. Yes, it's a bit pricey but makes the job so much easier. I also used the Sharkbites to plumb in a whole house filter. Once again, another leak free installation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Product. Absolutely no leaking, extremely tight fit, flexible. Had this installed for 3 weeks on my newly installed water softener. Wish they sold them in even longer lengths. When you install them, be sure to put them in locations/positions that affords you some room/leverage if you ever need to remove them. Takes lots of effort to remove. But, hopefully, you will not have to remove them. The small U shaped tool used for removal takes some effort to push the hose loose so you need to have room for leverage. But overall, the push to fit hose is an extremely great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant Product Excellant product. Very easy to install. Almost no chance of error. I used this product during the installation of a water softener. The Shark Bite fittings are incredibly easy to use. It's nearly impossible to improperly install the fitting. The installation took only seconds and is leak free. I used this fitting with PEX pipe. I did the rest of the job using standard PEX fittings and compression rings. In hindsight, I would have used Shark Bite fittings for the entire project even dispite the higher cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install Very easy to install. Shark bite fittings are quite expensive, but do add a great deal of convenience. Used to install a water softener. I had a leak on one fitting because I hadn't installed it far enough into the fitting. I turned off the water pressure, and reset the fitting using the $1 removal tool. No leaks and has worked great for the last month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably good I was replacing a water softener. Of course, the old fittings were sweated copper fittings with no union, and were backward from the setup of the new softener. Bought these, cut the pipes, pushed them on and connected them to the water softener. No leaks and they worked fine. They turned what could have been a 1-2 hour job into about a 5 minute job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made for a fast and easy install. It's not always... Made for a fast and easy install. It's not always worth the money, but the money spent here eliminated a headache, allows for the softener to slightly move when needed and it also does the next guy a favor upon installing a unit. Bravo.

I'm replacing the water softener in my home. Existing assembly uses U094LF connectors at the supply lines. It was plumbed in with PVC. I want to replace the PVC hookup with flexible hoses. existing connect are about 7 years old. Should they be replaced.

Asked by: tomch
Good morning, Our SharkBite Flexible hoses only work with Copper, PEX and CPVC. If you have PVC, you will have to transition from our Flex Hoses to one of our PVC adapters (link to PVC adapter: http://www.sharkbite.com/product/pvc-transition-couplings/)

Can anyone tell me if this will work on PVC? I am trying to connect a water softener (1") to my main water line which is 3/4" PVC, not CPVC. Thank you!

Asked by: Daryle L
Hello, This will not connect to PVC. You would have to connect to copper, PEX or CPVC and then use part # UIP4016 to transition to PVC. Please see the link below. http://www.sharkbite.com/product/pvc-transition-couplings/ Thank you

Good morning, We don't offer a 36" line. You could reach out to a local hardware store and find out if another vendor makes a product that will meet your needs.

Hi. Exactly what is the liner made of? If rubber, what type? I am trying to find out if the liner will be softened/destroyed if I run Automatic Transmission fluid through it in a non-pressurized situation. It will be used as the dipstick fill tube.

Asked by: Tutulate
Good morning, The rubber is EPDM. We can not recommend our product for your suggested use. We would advise using a proper pipe or connection designed for your needs.

Hello I install two of these hoses to hook up my hot water heater about a year ago and recently I've been seeing a lot of black specks of rubber throughout my house on all faucets when I turn the hot water on. Is there a known issue with some of these?

Asked by: Mtneff
Good morning, If you installed these in less than a year, we'd like to have you call us at 1-877-700-4242 between 8 am - 6 pm est Monday through Friday or send us an e-mail at techsupport@cashacme.com. We need to get these hoses back as we've heard about a similar problem from hoses manufactured before 2014. Since January 2014, we had the rubber upgraded. You should not experience this issue at this time. Please reach out to use through the customer support so we can work to get this matter resolved.
