Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water softener hose Just hooked up new water softener at my mother in laws home. These braided hoses with 1" nut to 3/4 push to connect worked awesome. I have used shark bite products before with the same result. Awesome products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Product. Absolutely no leaking, extremely tight fit, flexible. Had this installed for 3 weeks on my newly installed water softener. Wish they sold them in even longer lengths. When you install them, be sure to put them in locations/positions that affords you some room/leverage if you ever need to remove them. Takes lots of effort to remove. But, hopefully, you will not have to remove them. The small U shaped tool used for removal takes some effort to push the hose loose so you need to have room for leverage. But overall, the push to fit hose is an extremely great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant Product Excellant product. Very easy to install. Almost no chance of error. I used this product during the installation of a water softener. The Shark Bite fittings are incredibly easy to use. It's nearly impossible to improperly install the fitting. The installation took only seconds and is leak free. I used this fitting with PEX pipe. I did the rest of the job using standard PEX fittings and compression rings. In hindsight, I would have used Shark Bite fittings for the entire project even dispite the higher cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, makes installation so easy! While the shark connectors are a little more expensive they make up for it in ease of installation. I have copper pipes in my house I just used a pipe cutting tool to get a clean and even cut on the pipe and then just slide the shark end over the pipe. Make sure you push it up hard so it locks in and that's it. These are well built, high quality material and work well. You do need a special tool to take them off but I don't expect that I will ever need to remove it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clever solution I was skeptical of these SharkBite connectors. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. Boy, was I wrong. The connectors were amazingly easy to fit to the hard copper pipes and the hose is strong but quite flexible. After a month or two of use, not a single drop has leaked from the connectors even though I've moved the hoses around a bit. I highly recommend SharkBite connectors. They work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ecxactly what I needed The 3/4 IN. PUSH-TO-CONNECT X 1 IN. FIP X 24 IN. BRAIDED STAINLESS STEEL WATER SOFTENER CONNECTOR was exactly what I needed to finish my new water softener installation. I did not want to go to the expense of purchasing all the tools and supplies needed for a copper installation and I didn't need to hire a contractor; did it myself thanks to these connectors. Thanks for an excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and works great These were vey easy to use and did exactly what I needed them to do. Just push it in until it won't slide on anymore and your done. Only downside is they were $3.00 more than the similar product that I had purchased at Menards that was the wrong size. Real reason I bought them at Home Depot was that they were a lot closer for me than Menards was, and I wanted the job done then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased and installed by a skeptic I was extremely skeptical about a push on connector that just slid on over the end of hard copper tubing. I was sure it would leak, but the Home Depot guy confidently recommended it to me so I bought them. I have had them installed for about 2 months now and they have not leaked at all. I purchased one for hot and one for cold. For me, they are visible so I can check them when I add water softener salt. Although they have worked flawlessly so far, I would not trust any slide on connector enough to use it within a sheet rocked wall. Perhaps in 15 years I can provide a longer term product review. I guess I should mention that they were extremely easy to install. First, I cut the old connector off of my hard copper pipes. Then I used one of those round wire brush tools to clean up the outside and inside of the hard copper pipe. Finally I slid this connector on. I enjoyed being able to bypass the soldering and checking for leaks.

Questions

I'm installing a water softener and will use your 24" flexible hose that has the 1" FIP connection. Do I need to use Teflon tape on the water softener end or will the 1" screw on end provide a leak free connection?

Asked by: JJP1
Teflon tape is always an added plus when using a threaded connection. These hoses to have a rubber washer that comes inside the threaded connection, but it is always a good idea using the tape.

Can the flex hoses be used to connect a water softener on the exterior of the house?

Asked by: justin walker
Good morning, Our Flexible Hoses are intended and recommended for internal use according to our installation instructions. We do not see any reason this hose will not work externally but if you are going to use any SharkBite product outside, we recommend wrapping it completely with self-adhesive silicone tape. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team at 1-877-700-4242 between 8 am - 6 pm est Monday through Friday or by e-mail at techsupport@cashacme.com.

Any chance you will be making a 1"x1" flexible hose anytime soon?

Asked by: Alberto
Good morning, Our flexible hoses are strictly meant for water heater applications. If a demand and growth for 1 inch connections to a water heater shows, we would definitely look into producing products in this market. At this time, the demand is for 3/4 inch connector to 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch pipes.
