Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water softener hose Just hooked up new water softener at my mother in laws home. These braided hoses with 1" nut to 3/4 push to connect worked awesome. I have used shark bite products before with the same result. Awesome products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Product. Absolutely no leaking, extremely tight fit, flexible. Had this installed for 3 weeks on my newly installed water softener. Wish they sold them in even longer lengths. When you install them, be sure to put them in locations/positions that affords you some room/leverage if you ever need to remove them. Takes lots of effort to remove. But, hopefully, you will not have to remove them. The small U shaped tool used for removal takes some effort to push the hose loose so you need to have room for leverage. But overall, the push to fit hose is an extremely great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant Product Excellant product. Very easy to install. Almost no chance of error. I used this product during the installation of a water softener. The Shark Bite fittings are incredibly easy to use. It's nearly impossible to improperly install the fitting. The installation took only seconds and is leak free. I used this fitting with PEX pipe. I did the rest of the job using standard PEX fittings and compression rings. In hindsight, I would have used Shark Bite fittings for the entire project even dispite the higher cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, makes installation so easy! While the shark connectors are a little more expensive they make up for it in ease of installation. I have copper pipes in my house I just used a pipe cutting tool to get a clean and even cut on the pipe and then just slide the shark end over the pipe. Make sure you push it up hard so it locks in and that's it. These are well built, high quality material and work well. You do need a special tool to take them off but I don't expect that I will ever need to remove it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clever solution I was skeptical of these SharkBite connectors. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. Boy, was I wrong. The connectors were amazingly easy to fit to the hard copper pipes and the hose is strong but quite flexible. After a month or two of use, not a single drop has leaked from the connectors even though I've moved the hoses around a bit. I highly recommend SharkBite connectors. They work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and works great These were vey easy to use and did exactly what I needed them to do. Just push it in until it won't slide on anymore and your done. Only downside is they were $3.00 more than the similar product that I had purchased at Menards that was the wrong size. Real reason I bought them at Home Depot was that they were a lot closer for me than Menards was, and I wanted the job done then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased and installed by a skeptic I was extremely skeptical about a push on connector that just slid on over the end of hard copper tubing. I was sure it would leak, but the Home Depot guy confidently recommended it to me so I bought them. I have had them installed for about 2 months now and they have not leaked at all. I purchased one for hot and one for cold. For me, they are visible so I can check them when I add water softener salt. Although they have worked flawlessly so far, I would not trust any slide on connector enough to use it within a sheet rocked wall. Perhaps in 15 years I can provide a longer term product review. I guess I should mention that they were extremely easy to install. First, I cut the old connector off of my hard copper pipes. Then I used one of those round wire brush tools to clean up the outside and inside of the hard copper pipe. Finally I slid this connector on. I enjoyed being able to bypass the soldering and checking for leaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install Very easy to install. Shark bite fittings are quite expensive, but do add a great deal of convenience. Used to install a water softener. I had a leak on one fitting because I hadn't installed it far enough into the fitting. I turned off the water pressure, and reset the fitting using the $1 removal tool. No leaks and has worked great for the last month.

Questions

I bought this hose to attach to a 1" threaded fitting, but the swivel nut on this hose is more like 1 1/4". Not sure what's wrong, as I've checked my measurements a dozen times and this is way too big. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Asked by: Brendan
Greetings Brendan, All our Water Softner Flex Hoses are going to have a 1 inch Iron Pipe Thread (National Pipe Thread). We don't sell it in any other size. Try purchasing another one and seeing if maybe one (1) got through our QA. We sell a lot of these and this is the first time I've heard about sizing being off. If you are still experiencing issues after trying a different one, please give our Canadian Office a call at 1-888-820-0120.

I need a 1" X 1" water softener hose. Do you anything like that?

Asked by: tommtom04
Greetings TommTom04, We do not have this type of product at this time. We have pushed this request over to our development team and they can see if this is something that we will be able to produce.

Hello:  This is a follow-up .   The inside dia of your hose measures 1/2" on each end of the hose at the connection of the braided hose to the end fittings.  The inner dia of 3/4" copper tube is 3/4".  Hose is more restrictive?   Thanks, Mike0868

Asked by: Mike0868
Greetings Mike0868, Yes, it is approximately 1/2" internal. Our brand of hose as well as other brands of rubber/SST braided flex hoses will be similar in size. If your system cannot tolerate a restriction, you have the option of using our ¾” SharkBite x ¾” FIP corrugated flex hose for water heater installations. They are available in 18” and 24” length.

Re:water softener flex hose 3/4" x 1" x 24".  I'm concerned about the pressure drop in the line that is approx. 1/2" dia from fittings that are 3/4 and 1".  Your comments please.  Thanks.

Asked by: Mike0868
Greetings Mike0868, All our product sizing is based on Copper Tube size. The diameters should match that of the 3/4" tube you are connecting it to.

I need a 3/4" to 3/4" female water softener hose. Do you have something like that for my water softener?

Asked by: vipspots
Greetings VIPsports, At this time, our water softeners are only 3/4" x 1" (Part Number: U3086FLEX24LF). You could hook a 3/4" x 1" male reducer (Part Number: U139LF) to the end of the softener and create a 3/4" x 3/4".
