WHITE PEX PIPE (Straight Lengths)
SharkBite PEX Pipe is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. Manufactured without an oxygen barrier for potable water systems (available in white, blue, and red). The repeating SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-Fit Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint pattern.

How resilient is your pex to acidic conditions and hard water from Wellwater. To what pH is the product stable or not interactive? Thank you.
As long as the pH of your water stays within potable water standards (NSF 61), there should be no issue using our PEX pipe.
We recommend staying away from brass fittings if your water has high acid content.

What is the flow rate of this pipe vs. 3/4" Copper?
Since PEX is manufactured based off copper tube size, you should experience the same flow rate.

Can shark bite pex be connected directly to the top of a gas/electric water heater.
From our stand point, you would be okay to connect PEX to your water heater directly, but you will need to check with your Code and Municipality to find out what your local city allows for this type of installation.
If they say it can not, you can use on or our Flexible Water Heater Connectors (Link: http://www.sharkbite.com/product/flexible-water-heater-connectors/) which can connect to PEX tubing.

Hello, can soft coiled 1/2" copper Type L be used with "push-fit" fittings? thx
No. Soft copper can bend and compress under the tension from the O-ring and/or Grab Ring. This could cause leaks or even the fitting sliding off.

hello, when installing pex tubing with "push-fit" fittings should the end of the tubing be sanded lightly before pushing on fitting? thanks
It is not required for installation on PEX Tubing. If you feel the PEX pipe is sharp after you cut it, you can sand it down to flatten and dull it. The main reason you would want to do this, is to make sure nothing cuts or slice the O-Ring.

What will happen if I use white pex as part of my radiant heating system. I have about 8 feet total where i used white PEX.
Our Red, White and Blue PEX does not have oxygen barrier. If you are using a heating system or any pumps that can rust, over time these parts will break down due to oxygen leaking through the PEX pipe and into the water.

Why have 3 colored PEX tubing: White, Blue, and Red? And what would be the advantage to using a particular color, where, and when?
Red, White and Blue PEX are all the same. We just use different dyes. They meet all the same standards. Some people use Red for their Hot line and Blue for their cold line.
Orange PEX is the only tubing that differs. This has oxygen barrier and is commonly found in Radiant Heating.

Is this pipe freezable
All SharkBite products are freeze resistant but are not freeze-proof. You will need to take proper insulating or draining precautions when using our products in a high freezing area.
