LARGE DIAMETER PEX STIFFENERS
SharkBite’s Large Diameter PEX Stiffeners are inserts that go inside Large Diameter SharkBite fittings. These PEX stiffeners are required when connecting a SharkBite fitting to PEX tubing. They are not required for Copper or CPVC.
I have well water. The soil where i live is very high ph. We have black pex pipe 2". Metal rusts in the ground here. Will a shark bite connector rust as well?
All our SharkBite fittings are made of DZR brass and the stiffeners for sizes 1-1/4" to 2" are made of copper. With this information, you can make an educated decision on the effects of your water with our products.

Are your LD PEX Stiffeners NSF certified?
Our Large Diameter Stiffeners are made of 100% copper which is suitable for potable water and drinking applications.
We do not have the stiffeners listed, but copper is a material that can be used in potable water applications.
