Information

The HG110-D is a thermostatic mixing valve that can be installed at the water heater or any fixture to distribute controlled temperature water through a domestic hot water system. It is triple-listed to conform to ASSE 1017, 1069, and 1070. The valve allows the water heater to be set at a germ-killing 140°F (49°C). Its outlet temperature range is factory set at 120°F and adjustable anywhere from 85-130°F (29-54°C) to prevent scalding water temperatures. The SharkBite connections make for an easy installation with no soldering, glue or tools required. Currently available in 1/2” and 3/4” with integrated or union-connected SharkBite connections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install. Works exactly like it should. Unit installed easily and quickly. Maximum temperature can be adjusted, but the setting out of the box was fine. Allowed me to raise the temperature in the tank to give me more hot water (my tank has plenty of insulation so I'm not worried about standby heat loss but this could be a concern for some) and keeps the water safer by heating it above 140 degrees but only dispensing it at 120 degrees. Also, this will keep the output temperature of your tank consistent and prevent scalding even thought the temperature in the tank varies somewhat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from saved by sharkbite the inspector came to check the rough in plumbing I did for my new tub. he said 'where is the mixing valve'. I said 'the what?'. he said code requires a mixing valve to limit hot water temp to 120 degrees at the faucet. that apparently has been code since 2009. his interpretation is that it has to be proximate to the location of the faucet - not on the water heater outlet, where a rational person would put it. so I had to squeeze one in under the tub, which was already in place with the surrounding structure firmly in place. sharkbite to the rescue. it was fairly easy to reconfigure the plumbing without needing to sweat new fittings under, and very near, the fiberglass & acrylic whirlpool and associated plastic jet plumbing. I'm very happy these things exist and eliminate the need for bringing in a high priced monetary extraction specialist (plumber)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It worked great! This exactly I needed and it was easy to install. If you are looking for water temperature control device, this one is simple and has a knob to rotate and change the temperature.

We have been using this product to replace our Symmons mixing valves as they go out. The cost is a no brainer as the replacement cartridges for the Symmons valves are over $400.00 each. We have had no issues with longevity or temperature control; with these new units and have been using them for over 1 year.

My Hybrid tankless water heater was not regulating the water temperature to my liking so increasing the water heater setpoint to 130 F and setting this mixing valve to 120 F was the perfect fix.

Questions

My 110-D has been working great for more than 10 years. Recently the water temperature to my kitchen faucet is intermittent warm and cold. This faucet is low flow. How do I adjust the temperature? There does not appear to be operation instructions.

Asked by: dgilly
Good morning, You can twist the top. You may have to unscrew the set screw, then turn it in the direction of the +/- and then screw the set screw in to hold the temperature. You could also try see if you need to clean the check valves or body from gunk build up over the years. If you've had it for 10 years +, you could also look at getting a new one if that one doesn't adjust.

Does this item have a check value in it? I do not want the hot water pushing back into my cold line

Asked by: BArca
Good morning, Yes. All our Thermostatic Mixing Valves have checks in the hot and cold inlet sides.

Is it possible to order replacement connections for this valve, without re-ordering the valve itself? Thanks!

Asked by: Nathaniel_M
Greetings Nathaniel, No it is not. All these valves are manufactured and built with exact quantity of material to reduce the cost to manufacture which reduces the cost to sell it. By having extra stock, we'd have to increase the cost of the item to make up for the shelf life. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
