Consistent proven performance without the headaches of wondering if the fitting is going to hold when the water is turned back on and pressure builds in the supply lines. I have gone to using the SharkBite branded Pex fittings almost exclusively for the past five to seven years and there is a very logical reason for doing so; they work well. I do not have time for gambling when it comes to plumbing supplies in my clients homes. These Pex fittings from SharkBite have proven to be consistently reliable; no failures, ever (which is something I cannot say about every other branded fitting I have used in my career). Do not believe that all of these fitting are made equally...they are not. I only trust the SharkBite fittings. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Brass PEX Barb couplings are easy to use and work very well, after all it is a PEX product from SharkBite. I have used the PEX products for a few years and love the way you can make quality plumbing connections easily. I try to keep a variety of PEX fittings 'at the ready' in case I need to tackle any plumbing projects at home or for friends and relatives. Be sure to plan your projects to have the correct components to start and finish the job in a 'timely fashion'. I recommend PEX and SharkBite to anyone. Don't like giving five star reviews unless a product truly earns it in my opinion simply because I received it for free. I have used other brands for my pet fittings and always seem to be disappointed with the results which doesn't happen without e Shark-Bite brand. Every fitting has performed as expected without failure or complication...every single one. I started using Shark-Bite eight to ten years ago and will not use anything else again. Tried using some other brand at a clients request only to have it leak immediately after turning the water on. Needless to say I yanked out the other coupler and replaced it with a Shark-Bite fitting: no leaks.....ever. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The SharkBite 3/4 in. brass PEX barb couplings are much more economical to purchase in larger quantities like this 10 pack. It’s a convenient size for a smaller job. I have found I like the SharkBite products and have never had a problem with any failures of these fittings. When you factor in the total cost of PEX pipe and fittings compared to copper pipe and fittings plus the larger labor cost of copper I will usually always use PEX. I recently ruptured a PEX tubing line in our travel trailer and needed to splice in a new section. The SharkBite brass PEX barb couplings are the way to go. Used this in conjunction with the crimp tool and the stainless steel cinch clamps make for an easy and worry-free installation. The repair took me about 10 minutes and has been leak-free. Keeping a 10-pack around along the with the cinch clamps and tool gives me piece-of-mind when we go on our 3-month trip in our travel trailer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellet product This is for a review of the 10 pack of 3/4 barb couplings. I've used these many times in the past. They are great quality finish and materials. These are the best way to join two pieces of PEX together. I wish 3/4 was the actual inner diameter, but sadly, it is not. However, since this is the 'stnadard' PEX sizing, I can't ding the product for it. It is appropriately size for the PEX size, it's intended for (3/4 in). I have used half of this pack. None have leaked. I was late to using PEX until 4 years ago. So far, I'm completely sold. It's a huge time saver, and the PEX piping will survive freezing. The fittings MAY. I recommend these, since they are a better value in a 10-pack. Nice quality. Use the correct clamps, and tool. They work great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

While I don't often need a coupling for pex work, I do try to keep a bag on hand. One never knows when one's apprentice might put a kink in a cold line, that will have to be cut and repaired. That being said, I have used hundreds of these fittings in virtually all available configurations, from plugs, to tees and valves, and have yet to have any sort of issue with installation, fit, or long-term quality. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Plumbing Connection! The 10 pack of PEX 3/4" Couplings is a great value and a quality product. Pex is so much easier to work with than copper and great for the DYI plumber. The 3/4" PEX application provides the water volume to service multiple supply fixtures and the 3/4" Coupler enables joining 2 3/4" pipes for long runs.. Buying the 10 pack saves you money and ensures you will not run out of this often used connection [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Questions

Can a 5/8" Shark bite fitting be used on Rehau pipe?

Asked by: Casey G
Hello, On the outside of their PEX tubing there should be an ASTM certification. If that certification is ASTM F876 or F877 then our fittings are compatible. Best regards,

I have a 3/8" X 3/8" PB coupling but I'm not sure which end to use with the PB pipe.  I know the copper ring goes on the PB pipe but I'm not sure which end of the fitting to use.  My guess is to use the end with two rings or barbs.  Am I correct?

Asked by: David Claffy
Hello, In regards to part# U4006LFA (3/8" PB adapter), the end with two rings/barbs should be inserted into the PEX tubing and the other side with 4 rings should be used with PB. The 4 ring side should also have a slightly larger OD to better support the thin wall of PB. Best regards,

what PSI rating are the brass barbed couplings? We have clamped rubber hosing on them and when running 150psi of water pressure through them, the hosing is blowing off. The inside diameter of the hose is 3/4 and we are using a 3/4 coupling.

Asked by: Thomas B
Good morning, Our barb fittings can withstand up to 200 PSI. If your hose is blowing off, it sounds like you may be using a hose with a crimp/clamp that is not designed to work with our barb fittings. We'd love an opportunity to speak with you and learn more about your issue. I am connecting to 3/4" Polybutylene to PEX. Can I use the 3/4 in. Brass PEX Barb Polybutylene Coupling? Do you have a clamp version of this fitting? Can I use the clamp tool on both the Polybutylene and PEX pipe. What is the kit # and tool #

Asked by: stevee
Hello, The SharkBite PEX Barb Polybutylene adapter (Part # UC4016LF) is designed to be used with a crimp ring only. We do not have a clamp version of this fitting and would not recommend using a clamp with it. Thank you

can barb connectors with crimp rings be used to connect pex to cpvc?

Asked by: CharlyO
Good afternoon, Barb connections are only suitable for PEX. CPVC is too rigid to compress in with the ring.

I am running a exterior wood burning furnace and the lines to the house are a 5/8 TPEX line, the line is steel braided on the inside of the TPEX. The line is split will the 5/8 bite work on this line 3/4 and 1/2 will not. Thank you

Asked by: tlab4x4
Greetings Tlab4x4, As long as the pipe is not multilayered and meets either ASTM F876 or CSA B137.5, our SharkBite fittings should work.
