Perfect for my application of shutting off my main line supply to a silcock where it branches off at a tee as seen in the attached photo (tag left attached so the date of installation can be noted). Installation is very simple as are any of the pex fittings. Quality product.

Questions

Do y'all not offer a ball valve with 3/4 in. barbed fitting X 3/4 in. MNPT?

Asked by: Donald936
Good morning, We do not have that at this time.

What is the pressure drop across the valve? Do you have Cv or equivalent length values?

Asked by: DayPlumber
Good afternoon, Any drop off in pressure would be similar to a standard fitting/valve that were to be installed. During a third party testing on these valves, we did not experience a dramatic pressure loss. You can find a spec sheet to our check valves by using this link: http://www.sharkbite.com/sharkbite/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/SPRING-CHECK-VALVES.pdf

Why do the pex valves indicate max PSI of 400 while the push valves indicate only 200 max PSI?  Is that due to O ring construction?

Asked by: Mr Plumber
Greetings Mr Plumber, We are aware of these markings on the fitting. We are currently working to get this changed. When using any of our Barb fittings, these would be used with PEX tubing. Most PEX tubing can not go above 160 PSI. We would not recommend using this fitting in an application with PEX that is expected to go up to 400 PSI.

What is the turning force required to operate the valve.

Asked by: neel
Greetings Neel, It shouldn't take much to turn this valve. The first time it is turned may be a bit tough but after that, it should turn with little force.
