Welcome to SharkBite Training videos. My name is Craig and in this video I’m going to introduce you to the SharkBite push-fit plumbing range and quickly run through a few main products and their applications.
Our standard fittings range consists of over 60 parts in 6 pipe sizes from 1/4″ through to 1″ with products such as elbows, tees, couplings, threaded connectors and stop ends and can be used on SharkBite PEX, Copper and CPVC. SharkBite fittings can be rotated after assembly, allowing maximum convenience in any installation.
A coupling is used to connect two pieces of pipe together in a line, an elbow allows you to create a 90 degree angle with your pipe, and a tee allows you to connect 3 pipes at once or branch off with additional lines.
Dishwasher Elbows – connect the supply line directly to the dishwasher.
Ball Valves – can shut off the water supply to entire water systems, sections or components using a single lever. They are also great for stopping water flow when you have a broken pipe or connection. Simply cut the pipe, open the ball valve port, push it on the pipe, and then close the ball valve.
Slip Couplings – can be used to fix burst copper pipes. Simply remove the damaged section of pipe up to a maximum of 2” or 50mm, slide the end of the coupling marked ‘SLIP END’ over the copper as far as it will go, and then use a disconnect clip to slide it back over the adjoining piece of copper making sure they reach the correct depth.
Slip Tees – We also have Slip Tees and Female Centre Slip Tees for adding new lines and connections to other products.
Water Hammer Arrestors – provides maintenance-free, continuous protection against water hammer and can be installed vertically or horizontally in both commercial and residential, new or add-on installations.
Stop Valves & Fixture Supply Fittings – chrome-finished fittings that connect supply lines to fixtures and appliances and allow control of the water flow in these lines. They come with a chrome trim cap, which can be used as a handy disconnect clip.
Flex Hose (Flexible Water Heater Connectors) – used in residential and commercial applications to connect the hot and cold supply lines to the water heater. The flexibility of the braided hose allows connections in tight spaces without additional fittings. They are also available with an integral SharkBite ball valve.
Check Valve – general purpose, spring loaded check valve that can be installed horizontally or vertically and prevents the reverse flow of water through the water supply line, such as preventing contaminated water from flowing back into a potable water system. When you install the SharkBite check valve, make sure the arrow on the side of the fitting is pointing in the direction of the water flow.
Stub Out – the connection point for stop valves for service lines. It comes with a versatile multidirectional black plastic mounting clip providing effortless mounting to beams.
Pressure and Temperature Gauges – used to measure or monitor water conditions in domestic potable water and radiant heating systems, and can be used temporarily and reused or, as a permanent device.
Valves w/ SharkBite Unions – allows a valve to be removed from rigid lines and can be used in conjunction with existing piping, allowing valves to be removed for servicing.
Manifolds – installation of multiple supply lines in one place is easy with a SharkBite manifold. Available with a closed or open end, they are a valuable time-saver and are highly cost-effective, allowing longer runs of pipe with fewer fittings needed.
