Learn to install a Service Slip Tee which easily adds new appliances to your water supply system like icemakers and humidifiers.
G’day, welcome to SharkBite training videos, my name’s Craig, and in this video I’m going to show you how to easily cut into a copper CPVC line and add your own line using a SharkBite service Slip Tee. From there you can easily connect appliances such as dishwashers, icemakers or humidifiers.
Cut your pipe where the service is needed, no more than 2″. Remember to deburr and mark copper pipe for correct pipe engagement.
Simply slide the end of the tee, labeled “slip end” over the copper as far as it will go. Using a disconnect clip on the slip end of the fitting, slide the tee back over the adjoining piece of copper until it clicks and reaches the correct depth gauge mark.
Do not withdraw the slip end any further than the depth gauge mark.
You are now ready to push a SharkBite supply stop onto the ½” copper tube sized outlet and easily connect an appliance from there.
